Men's Polo Underway

Under the direction of accomplished head coach, Robby Arroyo, the men's water polo team took the pool to kick off the 2019 season by hosting American River College and Santa Rosa College in the Las Positas College Mini Tournament.

While the Hawks fell to their opponents, 6-20 (American River) and 6-15 (Santa Rosa), Coach Arroyo and #HawkNation is looking forward to another great season while building on the success of the young program. “We have a fantastic mix of experienced returning players with talented incoming players,” Arroyo says.

Lawrence Li and Marco Macchiavello will carry the outside scoring load, while first-year players Drake Southern, Matt Kaun and Luke Severs will create counter-attack opportunities. The defense will be anchored by freshman goalie Scott Vail and specialist George Tantzen. Vail, a Granada High graduate, is replacing 2017 LPC Men's Water Polo Player of the Year, Brain Meyn.

The Hawks are back in action later this week as they head to West Valley College to compete in the Nyquist Tournament September 7-8.
