With two games remaining before the tough Coast North Conference schedule, the Hawks welcomed the Folsom Lake Falcons (1-7) into the Nest. When all was said and done, Hawk Nation would send the Falcons packing with a 1-8 record and long drive back home.
The first half saw multiple lead changes through the first 10 minutes as the Hawks felt out the first-year program. Tulsa-bound Peter Hewitt provided a steady force for the Hawks as he finished the half with 10 points and two monster dunks that brought the crowd to their feet. Heading into the half, the Hawks used a late run to go up twelve, 35-23.
Coming out of halftime, the Hawks picked up where they left off going up by as many as 18 before Folsom Lake called a time out. The visiting team got within eight points with 7 minutes remaining before the Hawks took control behind three 3-pointers from Jason Augliera and 15 points in half from Anand Hundal. The Hawks outscored their opponents by 12 over the last 5 minutes to secure the 88-68 win.
The Hawks are back in action December 30th on the road when the take on Monterey Peninsula at 5 pm.
