(Box Score)

The Las Positas Men's Basketball team advances to the Championship game of the 39th Annual James Clark Classic hosted by Cosumnes River College where they will take on the host school.

After trailing by one at the half, Hawk Nation used a 15-3 run at the start of the second half to wrest control of the game away from the Sac City Panthers. This is the Hawks' second win over Sac City this year as they defeated the Panthers by a similar margin in the second round of the LPC Tony Costello Tip-Off Classic in November.

The Hawks were led by UC Davis transfer Peter Hewitt's 20-15 night on 90% shooting from field, 100% from the line, and two blocks in 31 minutes of play. Anand "Double-Double" Hundal came through again with 14 and 12 on the night to go long with two blocks. The Hawks also had exemplary play from the guard spot as both John Ketchel and Nick Evans contributed 18 points.

As a team, the Hawks shot 62% from the field 81% from the line, scored 46 points in the paint, 22 points off turnovers, and tallied 19 second chance points. In short, the Hawks simply outplayed their opponent.

The men take on Cosumnes River this afternoon at 4pm in the Championship game where your Hawks will look to avenge an earlier two point loss to CRC at the John Hogue Memorial Classic hosted by Mendocino College.
