Lady Hawks Cross Country 2017

Heading into the 2017 Cross Country Season, the Lady Hawks look to build from the ground up.  Starting with a foundation of freshmen Liliana Lopez and Nayeli Velasquez. Lopez is a graduate of Arroyo High School in San Lorenzo where she has three years of experience along with two years of intercollegiate soccer experience from LPC’s sister college Chabot in Hayward.  Lopez is looking to translate her soccer abilities to the cross country trails as she joins the Las Positas Cross Country Program. Nayeli comes in with not much running experience but with a great passion to compete.  With high school soccer experience at San Leandro High School, Nayeli looks to continue building her cardiovascular endurance as she test the waters of Cross Country.

With limited numbers in Northern California Women’s cross country, the Hawks aim to complete a full team which in turn could potentially lead to a top 14 finish and qualify for the Northern California Championships.  Our goals is to build a full team of women to represent Las Positas College at the Northern California Championships for only the second time since 2011.
