Wins Keep Coming

Fresh off a fifth consecutive win to open the season, the Las Positas men's basketball team will look to keep rolling in the Hartnell tournament this week.

The Hawks, ranked No. 7 in the preseason CCCMBCA State Top 20, and No. 4 in the North, walloped a pair of opponents last week. Las Positas pounded host Napa Valley 83-57 on Thursday, Nov. 13 and beat Lassen 102-44 on Saturday, Nov. 15.

Kodey Weary had a strong week with 19 points (7-10 FG) and six rebounds against Napa Valley. He had a double-double against Lassen with 10 points and 15 boards.

"Weary was huge last week," head coach James Giacomazzi said.

Jaden Woodard had a team-high 20 points against Lassen, to go with seven rebounds. Ted Bigg-Wither had 16 points (8-10 FG). Three Hawks had 11 points apiece off the bench — Cole Loud, Drew Vixon and Elam Sandhu.
Richard Banks amassed seven steals.

Las Positas will open the Hartnell Tournament against Monterey Peninsula on Nov. 21. The Hawks will face host Hartnell on Nov. 22. Las Positas will be off on Thanksgiving week before competing in the James Clark Classic at Cosumnes River Dec. 4-6.
