HAWKS SOAR IN HOME OPENER

The Las Positas women's volleyball team brought the energy in its season home opener. The Hawks hammered San Jose City 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-13) on Friday, Sept. 5.

"Great team effort. Good energy and cohesiveness," Hawks head coach Jamie Hadenfeldt said.


The Hawks improved to 4-2 overall with their second consecutive 3-0 win. Las Positas received outstanding efforts from sophomores Chloe Owyang, Ainsley Wade and Zepora Tia, along with freshman Madelyn (Madi) Huddleston.
Wade also led the defensive effort with 10 digs. Huddleston had 7 digs and 9 service aces. Sophomore setter Jade Dancel had 31 assists.


"We held the lead throughout. Fun night," Hadenfeldt said.

The Hawks will be back in action on Wednesday for a pair of matches, as they host the Hawk's Quad Classic. The hosts will take on Marin at 12 and College of the Redwoods at 2 pm.
