No. 19 Hawks open tournament with OT win over Fresno City

Freshman Jordahn Johnson posted a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds to help lead No. 19 state-ranked Las Positas College to a 90-89 victory over Fresno City College on Thursday in its opening game of the James Clark Classic at Cosumnes River College.

The Hawks surged to their seventh straight win and are 7-1 overall. They are scheduled to face Reedley College on Friday (Dec. 3) at 3 p.m. in Day 2 of the tourney.

All five LPC starters scored in double figures against the Rams. Lee Jones, Jr. also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 assists.

Brandon Fisher scored 14 points while Jorren Edmonds and Malik Jackson each contributed 10 points. Edmonds added 5 assists and Jackson totaled 4 blocks.

Las Positas led 49-31 at halftime before Fresno City (3-4) rallied to tie it up. The Hawks edged FCC 11-10 in overtime to pull out the win.
