No. 3 Hawks keep pace in Coast Conference race with win at CSM

SAN MATEO --- Jorren Edmonds posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while Malik Jackson scored a team-high 17 points to help lead No. 3 state-ranked Las Positas College to a 78-60 win at College of San Mateo on Monday.

At 9-1, the Hawks remain just one game in the loss column behind first-place and No. 1 state-ranked City College of San Francisco (12-0) in the Coast Conference North Division standings. Since suffering just their second loss of the season to the Rams on Jan. 26, Las Positas has won six straight games. The Hawks will get one final chance against CCSF on Friday (Feb. 18) when the two teams square off for the final time in the regular season in Livermore.

LPC handled its business on Monday against a hungry San Mateo squad. The Hawks built up a 15-point lead (35-20) at halftime and held off the Bulldogs in the second for the win.

Dathan Satchell added 16 points in the win, Jordahn Johnson contributed 8 points and 10 rebounds, while Lee Jones, Jr. posted 7 points and 7 assists.

Las Positas, now 22-2 overall, next plays at Cañada College on Wednesday (Feb. 16) at 7 p.m.
