RAMIREZ TWO TRICKS A TREAT FOR HAWKS SOCCER

The Las Positas men's soccer team keeps churning out goals and shutout victories.

The Hawks, ranked No. 12 in the NJCAA DIII Men's Rankings on Sept. 23, opened Coast Conference-South play with a rousing 6-0 win over host Foothill Junior College on Friday, Sept. 26. 

Sizzling Alejandro Ramirez led the way with his second hat trick of the week.
The Hawks (8-0-1, 1-0-0) have shut out six of their past seven opponents and won six in a row.

The Hawks also walloped Redwoods 9-2 on Sept. 23 in Livermore, featuring three goals by Ramirez and a ton of production overall.

Las Positas was ranked 13th in the CCCSIA Men's State Soccer Rankings on Sept. 16.

Against Foothill, the Hawks broke it open with five second-half goals, a stretch that showcased their complete style and depth. After Alex Gutierrez scored to break a scoreless tie late in the first half, the floodgates opened. Ramirez scored off a Gutierrez assist in the 52nd minute. Hakuto Kremer doubled the margin off a Kayke Carneiro assist one minute later. Dayton Dillman made it 4-0 in the 56th minute, and then Ramirez capped off his hat trick with the final two goals.

Against Redwoods, also scoring were Mark Sorensen, Hadi Jaber, Hector Gonzalez, Arteen Arianmanesh, Kremer, and Alexis Gutierrez.

Ramirez vaulted to a tie for ninth in the state in scoring with 15 points, on six goals and three assists.
