LPC drops third straight, falls to College of San Mateo

The short-handed Hawks lost their third consecutive game Friday night, falling 75-59 to host College of San Mateo in a Coast Conference North Division game.

LPC (12-8 overall) won its conference opener, but the three straight losses have the Hawks sitting in sixth place with a 1-3 record.

Playing again with only six healthy players, LPC trailed 43-28 at halftime. However, the Hawks scored the first three buckets of the second half to get back into the game. Unfortunately for LPC, CSM (12-5, 1-2) then went on a 10-0 run and finished the third quarter with a 63-48 lead.

Chelsea Bantley led the Hawks in scoring with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. She also grabbed 6 rebounds and blocked 6 shots. Sarah Rodriguez finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and Kristjan Aubry added 12 points.

LPC has a week off before its next game, a 5 p.m. road matchup Jan. 22 against City College of San Francisco. CCSF (17-3 overall) leads the conference with a 4-0 record while being ranked #3 in Northern California.
