LPC loses at home to Skyline
The first half of the Coast Conference North Division season ended on a sour note for the Hawks on Wednesday night.
LPC lost its fifth straiht game, falling 87-54 to Skyline in Livermore.
Kristjan Aubry led the Hawks (12-10, 1-5) with 14 points, while Erika Duarte added 13, and Cayla Nava contributed 10.
LPC trailed Skyline 19-6 after one quarter and 41-22 at halftime. It was 52-30 before Nava hit a three-pointer and Aubry followed with a bucket to cut the Hawks’ deficit to 17 at 52-35 with 2:25 left in the third quarter.
The Hawks could get no closer than 17 the rest of the game as Skyline (14-8, 4-2) pulled away.
On a positive note for LPC, the game marked the return of guard Jasmine Odell, who hadn’t played since Dec. 30 due to an injured ankle. In limited action, Odell came off the bench and scored 2 points.
LPC plays another home game Friday when it hosts Ohlone at 5 p.m. The Hawks’ sole conference victory—and its victory before that—came against Ohlone. The first was in double overtime Dec. 29 at the Foothill College Tournament, while the second was in single overtime Jan. 6 in the conference opener.
