LPC breezes past Ohlone 57-31

This time, the Hawks didn’t have to work extra to beat Ohlone.

After defeating the Renegades once in overtime and once in double-overtime, LPC dispatched of Ohlone rather easily Friday night, 57-31, in a Coast Conference North Division game in Livermore.

The much-needed victory snapped a 5-game losing streak for the Hawks (13-10, 2-5). Ohlone, which suited up only 5 players, remained winless at 0-17 overall and 0-7 in conference. The Renegades played the final 34 seconds with 4 players after one fouled out.

Sarah Rodriguez led LPC with 18 points. Kristjan Aubry scored 9 points, and Erika Duarte and Brianna Gay added 8 each.

The Hawks led by as many as 17 in the first half and enjoyed a 25-10 halftime advantage. LPC put the game away in the third quarter as Gay opened the scoring with a basket inside, Rodriguez made a layup, and Aubry nailed a three-pointer to make it 32-12.

After an Ohlone bucket, Aubry scored, then Jasmine Odell found Duarte for a layup, and Aubry nailed a pull-up jumper, increasing the Hawks’ lead to 38-12. LPC was up 40-17 at the end of the third quarter and coasted the rest of the game.

LPC’s next game is Feb. 3 at San Jose City College at 7 p.m.
