LIVERMORE – Ranaye Manu scored a game-high 20 points while Monique Cavness led all with 20 rebounds in Las Positas College's 65-44 Coast Conference interdivision loss to visiting Monterey Peninsula College on Friday.

The Hawks fell behind early but trailed by just 7 points (22-15) after the first quarter. But MPC outscored Las Positas 22-8 in the second quarter to put the contest out of reach.

Cavness added 5 points and 5 blocks to her big game on the boards for LPC. Ariana Madison added 11 points and 6 rebounds and Mi'Ari Garnett posted 8 points and 4 assists.

The loss dropped Las Positas to 0-12 overall. The Hawks return to action on Monday (Jan. 9) when they host No. 10 state-ranked City College of San Francisco in a 5 p.m. Coast Conference North Division game. The contest was originally scheduled for this past Wednesday night, but was postponed due to the severe storms in the area.
