The women's water polo team picked up their first win of the season on the road this past Friday by taking down Modesto by a score of 14-12.

The two teams played each other three weeks ago, a loss for the Hawks. In that match it appeared they might have ran out of gas, as they were outscored 5-1 in the 4^th period by the Pirates.

On this day, the Hawks were determined not to let that happen again, as they came out strong to start the 4^th, which had an 8-8 tie on the score board.

The Hawks to control of the match with a 6-0 run, stunning the home team and their fans.While Modesto did come back with a 4-0 run of their own, there simply wasn't enough time left in the match to really mount a comeback.

Five different Hawks score a goal, Jayden Helm had a team high five goals while Hannah Rasmussen and Camryn Hobizal both scored three. Ariana Leyva and Kaitlyn Diep a one apiece.

Las Positas will have this week off, after their Friday match with Marin was cancelled. They will however be heading down South for the two-day Cuesta Tournament starting October 10th in San Luis Obispo.
