Hawks named No. 13 seed for Northern California Regional Playoffs

NorCal Regional Playoffs Bracket

The road to the women's soccer state championships begins this week for Las Positas College. On Tuesday, the Hawks received the No. 13 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

No. 13 Las Positas will travel to No. 4 Folsom Lake College on Saturday (Nov. 20) for a Round 1 playoff game. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Fans should check with the home team regarding any spectator policy at its facility.

The Hawks enter the postseason with an 11-4-3 overall record and finished fourth in the Coast Conference South Division with a 3-4-3 mark. Las Positas has outscored its opponents by an impressive 52-9 margin this season and has posted 13 shutouts.

The Hawks will be making their sixth consecutive appearance in the regional playoffs dating back to 2015. Last season in 2019, LPC advanced to the second round.

Folsom Lake brings a 13-1-5 overall record into Saturday's game and finished third in the Big 8 Conference at 7-1-3. Saturday's contest will mark the first meeting of the season between the two squads.

The winner of Saturday's game will face either No. 5 Clovis Community College (13-4-2) or No. 12 West Valley College (9-9-2) in Round 2 on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Three wins are needed by the Hawks to advance to the CCCAA Soccer State Championships on Dec. 3 and 5 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
