Hawks Enjoyed Positive Season

The Las Positas women's soccer team, which played gallantly down the stretch to earn a 10th consecutive regional playoff berth, bowed out with a 2-0 loss to host Los Medanos in Round 1 on Wednesday night, Nov. 19.
The Hawks and Mustangs were tied 0-0 heading into the second half, but LMC scored in the 50th and 60th minutes to prevail.
The Hawks finished tied for second in the Coast-South conference
"This was another positive year for our women's program," Coach Andy Cumbo said.
The Hawks (8-10-3) were led the by back line of Allison Mitchell and Kylie Hahlbeck and midfielders Vanessa Gomez and Amaris Andrade.

"Those four were steady leaders on and off the field," Cumbo said. "We had a good core of freshmen, led by Bella (Isabella Hernandez) and Liz (Lizette Elenes) in the midfield. We are on the recruiting trail already as we look to bolster up the squad for next year."
